The M-SAFE aluminium guardrail fixed on metal deck to be sealed allows the adaptation of terraces that are inaccessible to the public. It is fixed to the roof through the waterproofing system using the BE-POST

The M-SAFE railing is easy to install: 

  • -Handrail fixing system, using a plastic cap.
  • -Hole in the uprights for fixing the knee-rail.
  • -Handrail and knee-rail delivered in packs of 7 and 5 units, assembly using reduced ends.

Bases

  • The inclination of the handrail is ensured by the top-fixed base which exists in a straight or inclined version at 25°.
  • The design of the upright allows for standardization thanks to the use of the height-adjustable support.
  • The BE-POST is available in 4 standard heights:
    • -Height 300 mm for insulation up to 114 mm.
    • -Height 400 mm for insulation up to 214 mm.
    • -Height 500 mm for insulation up to 314 mm.

Fixing

Fixing to the roof with 8 x Drillnox DBS2 screws with waterproof washers and bowl washers.

The Drillinox DBS2 Ø6 × 27 mm screw pushes the material inwards forming a flange, which increases the implantation length.

The screwing torque is high even for small thicknesses (> 5 Nm compared to an average of 1.5 Nm for classic self-drilling screws).

 

Toe-board option

In case of parapet < 100 mm, it is mandatory to provide a toe-board.
  • -Aluminium toe-board H 180 mm.
  • -Toe-board support for BE base.
  • -Toe-board connection fixing with 2 x M8 x 10 mm socket screws.
  • -Toe-board corner angle fixing with 2 x M8 x 10 mm socket screws.

Instalation (See instructions)

  • Distance between uprights: 1500 mm Max.
  • Presence of a stop (parapet type) mandatory height minimum 20 mm. Self-drilling screw 4.8 x 32 mm with hexagon head:
    • -Fixing the knee-rail to the upright.
    • -Fixing the accessories (angle, cap, end cap) to the handrail and the knee-rail.
    • -Fixing the handrail and knee-rail restrictions (tube junctions).
    • -Self-drilling screw with hexagon head Ø4.8 x 50 mm for fixing the counterweights (1 per counterweight).
    • -CHC screw 8 × 45 mm (standard): screw the base to the upright.
